I love NYC. Yesterday I worked my butt off all day at HS pr to get ready for last night's Louis Vuitton event at Saks that we were pr for. It was definitely weird being on the OTHER side of the red carpet, not as press. It made me realize the following things. That a) I love fashion, b)I love nyc, c)I love my job and all the contacts and friends ive made through it the past two years, d)I love PR and e) I love champagne and tuna tar tar. I do alot of events, but this one was specifically fun. First of all, I wasn't there to interview and party. I was working with the PR team. The event was to debut Louis Vuitton's new collection, Cruise. Saks was transformed into a Jungle, it was BEAUTIFUL. I realized how many amazing friends i've made the past few years doing what I do. I ran into 2 of my friends on the red carpet (my collegue at in touch weekly and my friend brad from Us weekly), I then ran into my fabulous new best friend Naeem and his boy from the Eldridge, I also saw an Old friend Kristian who is a socialite i love and his friend who designs dresses for GAGA. I ran into my girl Christine, I ran into my friend who photographs for Patrick McMullen and tons others. I just love events like that. I also realized that i love doing pr, it's so diff then reporting, i can't compare them nor pick what i like more. Im just well rounded in both now and that opens the doors to me as to what I wanna do as a career.
Anyways, some of the new Louis Vuitton line for Cruise,
PS-go to papermag's website and vote in the 5th annual nightlife awards. My FAMILY is nominated!! OK so GREENHOUSE (barry 4 L) is nominated for best club and Eldridge (my home team) is nominated for best lounge includign DJ MIA one of our dj's!! go vote, they deserve it. Let's give it to greenhouse for best club. Every night its so fun, one oak has one before, they should take a seat this year.

So mikealis and I are in a cab the other day heading to Juliet and our cab driver turned up the radio really loud when empire state of mind came on. in the car next to us (not a cab) was this guy, a totally different race, background, culuture, completely diff human being from the cab driver. Yet with both their windows up, just by looking at eachother they could tell that they were each listening to that song and singing about NYC in sperated vehicles. They waved at eachother, kept dancing and singing, and i just thought: wow, why haven't we thought of this before? That's all it takes to bring people in this city together: patriotism...and jay z...so jay for governor, long live nyc.
Halloween, what a nightmare. PS. I have to vent about this because it upset me to the point of no return on Saturday night. someone please explain to me the point of the Village Halloween parade. As a 6th avenue apartment renter, I see ZERO point in it. First off, it blocks traffic from the village to chelsea on 3 avenues. Secondly, it doesn't bring in ANY revenue for nYc as it's free. Third, the ammount of money the city spends on Police, blocking travel, closing trains down, police to search people getting on trains, clean up crew, ETC ETC ETC makes me ill. Here's what it did for me- I had to walk from 6th ave and 15th st (my apt) to the east mother fucking village. I was hosting a party for Matt Levine at the Rivington Penthouse and my brother, boyfriend, and friend could NOT get a cab, nor could we get on a train as they were all blocked any where down to the village. After 45 minutes of walking, in my stupid idiotic fucking 80's costume, i wanted to kill everyone i knew. Everyone hated me for a good hour because of my mood but can u blame me? NO im not drunk yet, and NO im not in the halloween spirit, and NO the thousands upon thousands of lady gagas everywhere are NOT cute NOR funny NOR original. The night ended up awesome once I had my bottle of vodka. The Rivington Hotel, for those of you who haven't been special enough to go there, is one of the most upscale beauitful hotels in nyc, and the penthouse is not even worth explaining. It's a gem in the LES. All i can tell u is if your lucky enough to attend an event there, go to the penthouse, and look at the view. I ended up with 3 tables that night, too many people, a bunch of c list celebs, and 4 clubs all in one night, not that it's suprising only that it was TIRING. Every single one required a LONG walk or a car service (or a bouncer nice enough to give us a ride). halloween can suck my nuts and next year, im staying in. im too old for that shit!!
Thank god all the girls at the PR firm I work at are anti "dwelling on the holiday" bitches too like me, and insisted that ANY (if any) halloween decorations that were put up, were PROMPTLY removed by monday morning. thanks bitches.
